Yeah this exactly. Had a 5 leg parlay a few weeks back and a baseball game got rained out. Woke up the next morning and it had already been converted to 4 legs. Still hit too which was nice lmao

Worth noting that the timing matters. Most books have a specific window - usually the game needs to be completed within 24-48 hours of the original start time or it gets voided. If they reschedule it for the next day and it actually plays, your bet might still stand depending on the book.

wait so if it voids does my potential payout go down? like how much do you actually lose on the odds

yeah it recalculates without that leg. so if you had +1200 odds on a 4 legger and one voids, itll drop to whatever the remaining 3 legs would pay. could be like +500 or whatever depending on the individual legs

honestly this happened to me and the book i was using at the time tried to void my WHOLE parlay not just the one leg. had to contact support like 4 times before they fixed it. some of these smaller books are sketchy as hell about this stuff

That sucks but sounds like you were using a shady book tbh. I've had games cancelled probably 6-7 times across different parlays and never had an issue like that. The legit sportsbooks handle it automatically without you even needing to do anything.

does anyone know what happens with live bets tho? like if youre betting in-game and it gets cancelled mid match

live bets are usually voided if the game doesnt finish. some books will grade certain markets if theyre already decided tho - like if you bet over 2.5 goals and theres already 3 goals before they cancel, you might still get paid. depends heavily on the book and the sport

Different sports have different rules too. For tennis if a player retires mid-match most books void all bets that werent already settled. Baseball has its own weird rules about how many innings need to be played for it to count as official.

idk man ive heard stories of books using cancelled games as an excuse to not pay out on parlays that were about to hit. how do we know theyre not just picking and choosing when to void stuff

nah bro thats not really how it works at regulated books. they have to follow their posted rules and gaming commissions actually audit this stuff. if youre betting at some random offshore site with no license then yeah maybe, but legit books cant just make stuff up

One thing to keep in mind - player props might be handled differently than game bets. If you bet on a player to score and the game gets cancelled before they played, thats usually voided. But if they already scored before cancellation some books will still pay that out.

Also fwiw you should screenshot your bet slip before games start. Just in case theres ever a dispute you have proof of what the odds were and what you actually bet. saved me once when there was a glitch in displaying my settled bets

can confirm what the top comment said. had this happen twice last NFL season with weather delays and both times the leg just got removed and my parlay adjusted. annoying when you picked a good leg but at least you dont lose everything
