Question

Why is verification taking so long at the sportsbook?

so i signed up like 5 days ago and submitted all my documents on day 1. drivers license, utility bill, even a selfie holding my ID which felt weird af. still says 'pending review' and support just keeps saying 'please wait'. is this normal or should i be worried? wanted to get some bets in before the playoffs start

Can confirm this, had the exact same thing happen to me last month. Ended up taking 6 days total and then got approved out of nowhere with no email or anything. Just logged in and suddenly I could deposit. Annoying but seems like its just how it goes these days

Wait did they actually tell you what documents they needed upfront or did they keep asking for more stuff? Curious because that happened to a buddy of mine

usually they tell you everything at once but sometimes if something looks off they ask for additional proof. like if your address on the bill doesnt match exactly what you typed in, theyll want another doc. happened to me because i used my nickname on signup lol

does it matter what time of day you submit? like do they have actual people reviewing this or is it automated?

Its real people for sure, at least at the legit places. automated systems do the first check but anything flagged goes to a human. thats why weekends can be slower. i submitted on a friday once and didnt hear back til tuesday

Fwiw a lot of sportsbooks are dealing with massive volumes right now because of football season starting. Read somewhere that some of the big operators got like 3x the normal signups in August. Might just be a timing thing on your end.

idk man 5 days seems excessive to me. what book is this? some of these offshore places drag their feet on verification so they can hold onto deposits longer. seen it happen before

nah thats not really how it works, they cant touch your money until youre verified anyway at most places. the delay is usually just understaffing or strict compliance teams being thorough. ive used like 4 different books and longest was 8 days, shortest was same day. just depends

One thing to note - if youre in a state that just legalized, the books there are extra careful because regulators are watching them closely. Had a friend in Ohio wait almost 2 weeks when they first launched there. Its gotten better since

same experience here, verification took forever at my first book and i was getting antsy. once it finally went through tho everything was smooth after that. just part of the process unfortunately, hang in there OP
