Question

Is caesars actually legit or am i gonna get burned

so my buddy keeps telling me to sign up with caesars cause of some promo he got, but i've only ever used one book before and i'm kinda paranoid about handing over my ssn and bank info to another app. i'm in ohio if that matters. mostly just do nfl sundays and a little cbb. is it an actual licensed thing or one of those offshore deals people complain about on here

can confirm on the payout speed. i'm in NJ so DGE regulated and i've never had a withdrawal take more than like 48 hrs to paypal. one time i pulled $780 on a monday morning and it was there tuesday afternoon. never had them ghost me or randomly void a bet.

legit? sure. good? eh. they limited me after maybe 4 months. i wasn't even crushing them, up like $1,100 total, mostly just betting mid major cbb totals early in the week. now my max on a random tuesday game is like $22. so yeah they'll pay you but they'll also make you useless if you show even a hint of being sharp. that's not fraud but it's annoying as hell.

That's every book in the country though, not a Caesars thing. I got limited on the other app I use way faster than I did on Caesars, and I'm nowhere near sharp lol. If you're just doing sunday parlays and player props like OP said, you'll probably never hit a limit. I've been betting there since Michigan launched and my max is still fine.

fwiw the way to check any book is just look for the state license. ohio casino control commission has a list of every legal operator on their site. if it's not on that list, don't touch it no matter how good the sign up offer looks. caesars, the other big national ones, they're all on it.

wait so what actually happens with the taxes? like do they send you something at the end of the year or do i just deal with it myself

they'll issue a W-2G if you hit certain thresholds (300x your stake and $600+, basically big longshot wins). otherwise there's no form but you're technically supposed to report winnings anyway. your yearly statement is downloadable in the account section, i pull mine in january and hand it to my guy. it's not caesars being weird, it's federal rules.

yeah second the top comment. deposited with debit, no fees, withdrew twice, no drama. also the rewards thing is actually worth something if you ever go to vegas or a caesars property, i got two comped nights at harrah's off tier credits i earned just betting normally. that's the one thing they do better than the pure app books imo.

does the geolocation stuff work ok for anyone? i live like 15 min from the state line and i'm worried it's gonna lock me out constantly

it's mostly fine but keep the location plugin updated and turn off any vpn. i'm about 20 miles from a border and the only time it failed me was in a parking garage with garbage gps. if it flags you just close the app fully, toggle location off/on, reopen. takes 30 seconds. desktop is the worse one honestly, the browser plugin is jank.

one thing nobody mentioned, verification. mine went through instantly but my brother in law got kicked to manual review because his address on file was his old apartment. had to upload a license pic and a utility bill and it took 3 days. so make sure whatever you type matches your ID exactly or you'll be sitting there with a funded account you can't bet from.

idk everyone in here sounds a little too happy. i've seen a bunch of threads about bets getting voided after the fact for "obvious pricing error" or whatever. how is that legit? if they can just cancel a bet they don't like after you win that seems like the whole thing is rigged in their favor

Palpable error voids are in the house rules of literally every regulated book and they're approved by the state regulators. It's for stuff like a -400 favorite accidentally posting at +400 for 9 seconds. And it cuts both ways, when their pricing glitches in their favor those get voided too. Also if you actually think you got screwed you can file a complaint with your state commission and they will make the book respond. That's the whole point of regulated vs offshore, offshore you have zero recourse.

for context caesars is a publicly traded company with actual land based casinos across the country. they are not gonna torch a gaming license worth billions over your $50 parlay. the risk with a book like this isn't them stealing your money, it's the odds being a little worse than elsewhere on certain markets. that's the real cost.

OP here, thanks everyone this was way more helpful than i expected. signed up two weeks ago, verification was instant, put $100 in and rode it up to like $260 on a bengals over. one more thing though, is there any downside to withdrawing small amounts often vs waiting for a big number? like will they flag me

nah they don't care. i pull $50-$100 pretty regularly and nothing has ever happened. the only thing is if you withdraw and then redeposit like immediately a bunch of times some payment processors get squirrely, but that's your bank being weird not caesars. also just know withdrawals usually have to go back to the method you deposited with at least partially, so if you funded with paypal expect it back on paypal.

the 2 day payout thing has not been my experience at all. took me 6 days once and support gave me the copy paste "pending review" answer three times in a row. so idk about all these instant cashout stories

6 days usually means it got kicked to a manual review, which happens if it's your first withdrawal or a big jump from your usual amount. sucks and their support chat is genuinely mediocre, no argument there. but you did get paid right? that's the difference between slow and scam. i'd rather wait 6 days once than deal with an offshore site telling me to buy a bitcoin voucher.

responsible gaming tools are actually solid there too if that matters to anyone. deposit limits, cool off periods, all baked into the account settings. required by the state regulators but they don't hide it three menus deep like some apps do.

line shopping is the real answer for anyone reading this later. keep 2-3 accounts, the difference between -110 and -115 on the same total adds up more than any welcome bonus ever will. caesars is usually competitive on nfl sides and awful on some of the niche props.

late but yep. ohio bettor here, 8 months in, no issues. hit a $310 payout on a browns game (shocking i know) and had it in my account thursday after a tuesday request. legit operation, just don't expect them to love you if you start winning.
